Rhetoric: The art of effective or persuasive speaking or writing
  • Rhetorical appeals are methods of persuasion invented by the Greek philosopher Aristotle (that's his image above!)
  • Each method uses a different appeal to try and persuade the listener.
  • There are three rhetorical appeals: Logos, Ethos and Pathos.
