Poetry Out Loud

Your ONLY homework for the break is to select and begin memorizing a poem for Poetry Out Loud! Be sure to visit www.poetryoutloud.org to choose a poem for recitation. 

Once you select a poem, please bring a copy of the poem to class with you when we return. You may either print out the poem or write the poem by hand.

Keep in mind the following:
  • The poem must be at LEAST 10 lines long.
  • Extra credit for poems with 25+ lines.
  • Extra credit if you are the only one who has chosen your poem.
  • You may NOT choose the poems "300 Goats" or "Abandoned Farmhouse."
  • You must memorize the title, author and first 8-10 of the poem for the first check!

When you return, you will be expected to know the TITLE, AUTHOR and first 8-10 LINES of the poem you selected.
