DUE Thurs 1/4/17

Your only homework for the break is to prepare for the Poetry Out Loud national recitation competition.
  1. Choose a poem from the Poetry Out Loud anthology (your poem MUST be from www.poetryoutloud.org !)
  2. Memorize the title, author and first 8-10 lines for when you return from break.
  3. When you choose a poem, leave the title, author, and your block in the comments section of this assignment so that everyone has a unique poem.
  4. You cannot choose “300 Goats” or “Abandoned Farmhouse”!!!!

  • Body paragraphs should be written in TE/EA structure format!

If you did not do so today in class, please finish writing your introduction paragraph for your research paper. Below, you can find sample introduction paragraphs as well as ideas for and samples of appropriate "hooks" for your essay.
  • If you do not have a thesis, be sure to write one TONIGHT!
  • If you have not finished your research, be sure to do so TONIGHT!

In addition, if you missed or did not complete the Guided Reading Questions for Ch. 31 "Hela, Goddess of Death", be sure to finish that work. Everyone should have read both Chapters 31 and 32 by Wednesday 12/13.

  1. Select your strongest/most interesting research question (highlighted by Ms. Hunter)
  2. Using that question as a guideline, begin your research. Remember! The goal is to find information on your topic that will lead you to a claim statement that is arguable.
