ARGUMENTATIVE ESSAY --> Due 1/2/17
Your task over the break is to finish writing your introduction and the three body paragraphs for your argumentative essays. The essay is based off of your topic from your non-fiction Lit Circles.

In addition, if you recieved a score lower than 32.5 on your Haroun Unit Exam, you are eligible for CREDIT RECOVERY. This is the only way that you will be able to get a passing score on the exam!

  1. Check a HATSOS book out (if you were absent on 12/22, you must use the link to the pdf. of the book to complete the assignment)
  2. For Haroun, Rashid, Butt the Hoopoe, Iff the Water Genie, Blabbermouth, the Walrus, Prince Bolo, Mali, Goopy & Bagha, and Khattam-Shud...
    1. ​Identify ONE QUOTE for EACH of them that captures their personality very well in your opinion.
    2. Record the quote and page number, and then EXPLAIN what about this quote is such a good example of what type of person this character is. What does it REVEAL about them?
    3. Be as detailed as possible. All 10 quotes and detailed explanations due NO LATER than Friday 1/5/17.
  3. For SIMILE, METAPHOR, IMAGERY, PERSONIFICATION, HYPERBOLE, and ALLITERATION...
    1. ​Identify ONE QUOTE for EACH of them that shows a great example of that literary device.
    2. Record the quote and page number, and then EXPLAIN how that quote meets the definition of that literary device.
    3. Be as detailed as possible. All 6 quotes and detailed explanations due NO LATER than Friday 1/5/17.
