DUE Thursday 11/9/17!

Write one well-developed TE/EA structure paragraph that explains one of the themes that you found/discussed in Haroun and the Sea of Stories.

Tips:
  • Be sure that you have two pieces of EVIDENCE to support your ideas!
  • Your topic sentence will be one of your theme statements.

See below for the theme statements you came up with in class. You can choose any of the ones below or come up with your own theme statement for the paragraph.
Theme Statements (D Block)
  • Love can drive you to do crazy things.
  • Love can make you one-track minded.
  • It is better to argue about a manner than to make an abrupt decision.
  • Freedom of speech is powerful, we should make sure it is always available to us.
  • One small incident can have a huge impact on your life.
  • You can become accustomed to any kind of situation/challenge.
  • You need multiple perspectives to make a good plan.
  • Without the tradition of story telling, people lose their freedom.
Theme Statements (A Block)
  • Don't assume somebody's personality right away/based on superficial observations.
  • Unconditional love withstands any obstacles.
  • Different is not always a bad thing.
  • Stories are important because they teach us lessons that can be used in real-life scenarios.
  • Freedom of speech is important because listening to other points of view can be helpful.
