1- Begin recording your podcasts this weekend if possible. You should start getting all of your information together and having your group leader combine your different segments! Scroll back for different apps/software you can use for your podcast!

2- In addition, read Chapters 34 & 35 over the weekend! Can you feel a BIG QUIZ coming? Hmmm…

3- Lastly, your Mastery Work Final Drafts are due Tuesday 1/17!!! Please make sure that your Mastery is PRINTED and ready to hand in. You must also submit your first draft and the rubric with your final essay.

Find and listen to a podcast of your own choice! Afterwards, complete a short reflection on the podcast.
  • You can use the podcast app on your smartphone.
  • You may also go to www.npr.org/podcasts and choose from there.

If you're not sure where to begin, here are some specific podcasts you can choose from below. Click the name of the podcast to go to their page, or click the suggestion for a specific podcast to listen to:
  • Codewitch- A podcast about race and identity.
    • Suggestion: Say My Name, Say My Name (Correctly, Please)
  • All Songs Considered- A podcast about music and musicians.
    • Suggestion: Join the Black Parade: My Chemical Romance and the Politics of Taste
  • TED Radio Hour- The podcast version of TED Talks.
    • Suggestion: The Hero's Journey
  • Black Girl Dangerous- A feminist podcast about issues concerning people of color (with special regard to queer and trans people of color).
    • Suggestion: Donald Trump Got Elected, What Now?
  • Wait Wait...Don't Tell Me!- A comedic podcast set up as a "current events quiz" where some of the facts are real and others are made up.
    • Suggestion: R.L. Stine
  • The History of English Podcast- A podcast about the history and development of the English language.
    • Suggestion: Epidode 1- Introduction
  • Serial- A podcast that narrates a nonfiction story over multiple episodes. The first reason is a murder mystery.
    • Suggestion: The Alibi


After you listen to a podcast, be sure to answer the response questions below:
  1. What is the namd and title of the podcast you listened to?
  2. Briefly summarize what your podcast was about.
  3. What was the most interesting thing you learned or heard from the podcast?
  4. What elements from the podcast you listened to can you use in your own podcast?

In addition, don't forget to check out some of the apps and software options for your podcasts!

2.Make sure that you are making a list of PRO and CON arguments.
  • PRO: People should be able to claim ownership of their body products.
  • CON: People should not be able to claim ownership of their body products.
3.Complete the short response questions 1-4 in your notebooks.
4.Complete question 4 on a separate sheet of paper to be handed in.
